Report from the PCC 4th July 2019

Report for the PCC meeting held on 4th July 2019

Val Lynam welcomed everyone to the meeting which was opened in prayer.

Approval of the Minutes - The minutes of the meeting held on 4th June were approved for acceptance.

Matters arising   - Further discussion was held on “Term Limit for Deanery Synod Members”.  The meeting formulated their response to this document.

Correspondence   - received Form 17 from the Diocesan Registry Clerk in relation to the forthcoming Collation of the Rev Richard Duncan and informed the PCC that it will be on display in the main entrance to the church and on the entrance to the extension as requested.

Reports

Finance   - The Finance report for Receipts and Payments for the six months ended 30th June 2019 were circulated. There is a loss of £2,467 as we have slightly overpaid the Parish Share at the mid point of the year (60% instead of 50%). HMRC have sent the gift aid contribution for 2018, totalling £14,888.

General donations were £3,095 most of this being earmarked for the roof fund which stands at £15,500, towards the payment due in November. In the past 6 months the number of wedding and funerals   carried out were down.  This may possibly be because we did not have an incumbent. The flower festival raised £1,258 pounds towards the roof fund.

Social Committee -   The committee has not meet since the last PCC meeting.  The carnival has taken place and they were thrilled with the combined efforts of many from St Peter’s some of whom joined in for the first time. The icing on the cake was coming second and being awarded another £75 by the carnival committee. Future events are the Danceathon. Proms and puds in September

Deanery Report – The Report was circulated. Next Synod meeting is 10th October 2019 and will be held at Whitfield NN13 5TE starting at 7.15 for 7.30.

Building, Maintenance and Development - No meeting has been held since the last meeting which was early June.

Any Other Business - it appears that the west door may have been forced and could have been sprung open.  The bottom bolt is easy to put in place, it is the top bolt which can be difficult so this may be the cause of the problem.

There were 11 members in attendance with 4 apologies. The meeting closed as 8.30 with prayer.  The next PCC meeting is 5th September 7.45 in the extension.
