1. "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him" (v11).

  • Could God have chosen anything bigger to describe his love?

  • Watch this video if you want to get an idea of how high the heavens are and so the size of God's love.

  • Are there times when you think God doesn't love you?

  • How might looking up to the sky help you this week?

2. "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us" (v12).

  • Write down on 10 bits of paper things, you do/say/think that make God sad (transgressions).

  • Work out the east and west sides of the biggest room in your house.

  • Put all 10 pieces of paper on the east wall of the room and then flatten yourself against the west wall.

  • This is what Jesus has done by dying for your sins: taken them away from you so you don't need to feel guilty any more.

3. "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him" (v13).

  • What sort of love should fathers have for their children?

  • That's the sort of love that God has for you!

  • Can you design a Fathers' Day card for God?

PRAY: Thank you God that your love is enormous, that it has taken away our sin, and that you love us like a Father loves his child. Please help that to sink in. Amen.
