As the parish priest of Brackley, Fr Nicholas is responsible for the life of the parish and is the first port of call for all pastoral matters. He shares his work with the Ministry Team.
Before ordination Fr Nicholas was a research microbiologist and a teacher. He has been in Brackley since 2003 having previously been vicar of St. Peter's, Didcot, Oxfordshire. Fr Nicholas is a member of the Oratory of the Good Shepherd, a dispersed religious Community, dedicated to prayer, service and the spiritual life.
Anne is married to Graham, one of our organists, and they have two adult sons. Originally from the Orkney Islands, Anne has lived for many years in Suffolk . She and Graham have been in Brackley since June 2009. email: revdanne@stpetersbrackley.org.uk
Reader: Mrs Marion Jones As a Reader Marion’s work involves preaching and leading acts of worship. She also leads the Petrus Club for young people, the Lighthouse Club at Brackley Junior School and helps with Children’s Choir and Confirmation preparation. Marion is the principal contact between local schools and St Peter’s. Together with Val she leads the annual Holiday Club. Marion is also the sacristan who prepares for services in church as well as a host of other jobs, too many to number! Before retirement Marion was a head teacher.
Pastoral Assistant: Mrs Connie Coleman Connie’s work is principally in the community, visiting people at home and in the Cottage Hospital and the Care Homes where she leads services. She facilitates the church’s Bereavement Care Group. She also organises excellent monthly Sunday lunches in church and is often seen in the kitchen at fundraising and social activities. Connie’s other loves are her family and her spaniel named Lucy. Connie previously worked as a library supervisor.
Pastoral Assistant: Mrs Anne Mellor Anne is the person responsible for the church’s home groups and she runs a fortnightly bible study and discussion group in the church. She visits around the parish, including care homes and the Cottage Hospital. She combines this work with her ‘day job’ as secretary to a charitable foundation involved in company governance research and education.
Administrator and Children’s Worker: Mrs Val Lynam In her role as Administrator, Val looks after wedding and baptism enquiries and bookings for the church and church hall. Val also runs the Tadpoles toddler group on Fridays and First Steps for adults and young children on Thursdays. Val is the principal contact for Sunday School and she also helps run Holiday Club each year. Val’s children and grandchildren ensure she is kept up to date with the lives of children and their parents. email: adminstrator@stpetersbrackley.org.uk
